Tailgate with Fall Flavors

September 15, 2015 – Football season means it’s time to perfect the art of the tailgate, and ALDI is here to help! Keeping your fare fresh and healthy on game day might be easier than you think with these simple tips for better-for-you fall flavors.

Cauliflower Steaks
Cauliflower steaks make for a filling and flavorful meat alternative at any tailgate, and, just like any steak, the key is in the cut. Remove the stem and leaves and cut one inch off two sides of the cauliflower head to form a rough rectangle. Slice parallel to the straight edge to get four steaks out of each cauliflower head.

Cranberry Chutney
Nothing says “football” quite like a hearty burger. Kick up this tailgating classic with a bold, fall flavor: cranberry. Cranberry chutney is a delicious alternative to ketchup, and it couldn’t be simpler to make – toss cranberries, apples, oranges and a bit of maple syrup into a pot, sauté and serve!

Grilled Pears and Apples
The grill is the centerpiece of any successful tailgate, and there’s no need to put it away when dessert-time rolls around! For better-for-you, crowd-pleasing treats, try drizzling halved pears or apples in a little caramel sauce and throwing them on the grill.

I love to shop at Aldi’s because your prices are low with no gimmicks. I do wish you would accept credit cards from all customers. Afraid of the risk? How about choosing special customers.

Hi Vera, we do not accept checks or credit cards due to handling costs. This helps us save money in our operating costs, and these savings are passed directly to our customers via our everyday low prices. We appreciate your feedback though and will send it to the appropriate department. Thanks for being a fan!

I too am looking for more Organic products! I am well aware of what you currently stock but I think your stores should order more. Routinely you are out of the Organic 2% milk and OJ. Today the Crestwood Blvd store was out of organic spaghetti and linguini. I can never find the all natural, no nitrates bacon either.

I love Aldi and I love that you are in the Birmingham, AL market. I shop several of your stores when I am close by them. Ever thought about putting a store in Prattville, AL?

Thanks so much for being here!
