How to Host a Stress-Free Dinner Party This Fall

Planning a dinner party can be stressful. Creating a full-course meal is hard enough, but then you also have to worry about other details like cleaning and decorating your space. Fall is the best time to have fun with seasonality in your menu, but especially in your décor. Gather round with your friends and family and discover a few of our favorite tips to help you create a fun and festive fall spread!

Select a Theme:

The fall season brings about many opportunities to decorate, which is one of the best parts of planning! Your theme will help you plan throughout the planning process, so use it as your guide when it comes to décor. A theme can be as simple as choosing a color palette or seasonal flourishes, and using it in all the details throughout the gathering.

Keep the Table Setting Simple:

We like to keep things simple, and that applies to our décor and table settings too! While having a pretty place setting is always appreciated, don’t overwhelm your guests. A nice plate, a wine and water glass, a napkin and one of each utensil goes a long way. Plus, we’re pretty sure that the last thing you want to do is add more dishes to your pile.

Get Creative With Your Tablescape:

Keeping your table setting simple gives you an opportunity to get creative with your décor.  Rather than stressing over creating a grand centerpiece, use products that you may already have in new and interesting ways.  Stop by ALDI and pick up some of our fresh apples, and create a gorgeous ombré  centerpiece using variations of reds, yellows, and greens. Want to get one step fancier? Go ahead and spray paint them with your favorite metallic hues. Add in a few fall scented candles, and you’ve just created a stunning scene without the hassle!

Create a Signature Cocktail:

While festive dishes are always important at a dinner party, cocktails are definitely a close second. Your guests will always appreciate when they see that their host has gone the extra mile for them with a festive, signature cocktail. This can be something as simple as choosing from one of our sparkling wines (Grandi Mori Valdobbiadene Prosecco, Chiaré Blanc de Blancs, Maison de Joie Brut Sparkling) and adding in some seasonal fruits, or even apple cider. If that doesn’t suit you, then head to our website to find all of our delicious cocktail recipes!

It’s all in the Small Things:

At times, we can make party planning a lot more complicated than it needs to be. When hosting, you don’t always have to reinvent the wheel. Simple things such as candles, a dimly lit room or even a well-thought-out playlist can make all the difference for the ambiance. These things might seem very insignificant to you, but taking the time to plan out the small details can really impress your guests.

But most of all, it’s important to have fun! We know that might seem impossible with the stress of hosting, but it’s important to be present and in the moment with the people you care about. Enjoy the meal you prepared, grab a cocktail (or two) and gather ‘round to celebrate the season!
