Going Green

December 24, 2015 – In the midst of the season that puts food front and center, we’re taking a moment to appreciate the little green nut that has us elevating our holiday dishes. Yup, we’re talking about the pistachio! This versatile nut is packed with potassium and makes a delicious addition to any seasonal charcuterie board, side dish or dessert. To get you thinking green, here are a few of our favorite uses:

Pesto is a beautiful thing. We love it on pasta, smeared across toasted bread and…on fries? That’s right! Enhance your pesto by adding pistachios, and sprinkle over homemade sweet potato fries. Get the full how-to here.

Pistachio Bark
Put a twist on traditional holiday chocolate bark with an unconventional sweet and savory mixture. In lieu of peppermint bits, top your white chocolate bark with dried cranberries or tart cherries and shelled pistachios. You’ll thank us later!

Pistachio as Garnish
Pistachios are a colorful, tasty way to elevate the flavors and textures on your dinner table. For a better-for-you, hearty side dish at the holidays, try Roasted Cauliflower with Cranberries and Crispy Onions.
