Easter Made Easy

March 2, 2016 – From Easter egg hunts to Easter brunch, we’re here to help you hop right into the Easter holiday with some eggcellent ideas. These better-for-you swaps and Test Kitchen recipes will tickle any fancy.

Slow Cooker Ham
Sweet and savory flavors slow cooked into one juicy ham. And at only $1.34 per guest (for 10 people!), we’re drooling.

Easter Bunny Baskets
Your favorite breakfast fare perfectly nestled into a homemade French roll. Did we mention the bloody Mary sauce? Serves 12 under 50 cents per person (cost of alcohol not included).

Mimosa Bar
A mimosa bar for 18 people for under 20 bucks? Pick a bubbly. Any bubbly.

Classic Carrot Cake
Bunnies aren’t the only ones who love carrots. $1.01 a slice for 8 guests makes party planning a piece of cake (pun intended).

Looking for ways to make your Easter food better for you? We have some ideas to get you started:

  • Use creamy avocado instead of mayonnaise in your favorite deviled egg recipe. Guiltless and delicious.
  • Healthier choices don’t mean you have to ignore your sweet tooth. Try homemade chocolate-covered fruit instead of sugary candy.
  • Instead of filling your Easter eggs with candy, try filling them with fun-sized snacks like popcorn, cherry tomatoes or fruit cut with cookie cutters.

Have more Easter tips to share? We want to hear them. Tell us in the comments!

We just purchased a steam mop from Aldis and are amazed at the quality, especially considering it was only $30! It seems to work great. We are regular shoppers at Aldis and love the great prices.

Hi Bev – There are many factors involved when we open a new location, so we can’t always confirm new locations in advance. You can check for upcoming Grand Openings by visiting our Grand Openings tab from a desktop computer or internet browser here: http://on.fb.me/1gXFoym

I see a new opening in Inglewood, not far from where I live. Are you guys looking into opening in Ventura,CA? Only an hour north. Please.

Thanks for asking, Donna! We’re excited to have opened the first eight California locations on Thursday, March 24 and we’ll operate approximately 45 stores in Southern California by the end of 2016. For specific store locations and grand opening dates, click here: http://bit.ly/1MpuxNP.
