Colorful Produce 101

July 7, 2016 – One of our favorite things about summer is all the fresh produce. It’s tasty, refreshing and so good for you – and let’s not forget they’re downright colorful. DYK (did you know) the colors of your fruits n’ veggies aren’t only visually a-peeling (see what we did there?); they indicate different health benefits, too? It’s true! Take a look….

Juicy peach for breakfast? Side of carrots with lunch? Good news – you’re loading up on Vitamin C, plus potassium and fiber! Let’s be real, orange is always in style with our Carrot Pineapple Smoothie.

It’s BANANAS how crazy good yellow produce is for you. Picks like yellow bell peppers and summer squash are full of manganese, potassium and Vitamin A.

Think white onions or garlic. While not as sweet as their colorful counterparts, they bring a nutritious kick that can’t be denied. White produce provides allicin, which protects against heart disease and helps to lower cholesterol.

    The first time I went to Aldi I was in awe, spent three hours in wonderland! Cannot justify shopping anywhere else even though it’s out of my way. Waiting for a store in orange park.

    My second request. Aldi — I miss you – can’t find one closer than 30 plus miles away. Please please consider opening an Aldi in the Ft Myers/Cape Coral area. I travel once a month to the Aldis in Port Charlotte and North Port, Thank you.

    Please I am asking you stop selling fruit that has wax and grapes treated with sulphites. They cause terrible allergies. I have called and written your offices before but was ignored. People are trusting Aldi with their health, you should stop selling frutis with wax or sulphites.

    Thank you for Aldi In Smyrna, Ga. I love the grapes. I am a diabetic, so the fresh fruits and vegetables are a plus for my health.. When they are out of those big green grapes It breaks me and my special needs child heart.
