Behind-The-Scenes with the ALDI Test Kitchen

November 12, 2014 – Ever wonder where ALDI gets those mouthwatering, must-try recipes? Or how about where we test our products to ensure top-notch quality? You’ve come to the right place today! Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at where all the magic happens: the ALDI Test Kitchen.

Test Kitchen Chefs
The ALDI Test Kitchen has a team of chefs on staff who work tirelessly to bring our shoppers the best of the best – from product quality testing to recipe creation, they do it all. All seasoned chefs with experienced backgrounds, their taste buds know a good thing when it hits them.

BRecipe Creation
The Test Kitchen works to create around 200 recipes every year (WHOA!). Our chefs work with seasonal themes and food trends to create the recipes you love from 100% ALDI ingredients. After creating each masterpiece, the chefs are tasked with naming them – drawing from key ingredients, spices and flavors or presentation.

Product Quality Testing
Did you know every ALDI product is sampled before being placed in stores? Yep, you heard right – everything from our SimplyNature Organic Fruit Bars to our Savoritz Cheese Crackers has been quality-tested – twice per year to be exact! This ensures their flavor, taste and look meets or exceeds competitors. Even the product packaging and cooking instructions are analyzed by the Test Kitchen for the benefit of our customers.

Whether it’s crafting the perfect Thanksgiving side dish or counting individual nuts in our Southern Grove Mixed Nuts package, the ALDI Test Kitchen works hard to make sure you don’t have to.

I am looking for the recipes for Sunnyside breakfast casserole and Caramel apple bread pudding. I’m sorry that I did not find them. Is it possible for you to send me these.

Thank you very much if you can help me.

This is AMAZING! We are new to Aldi just having started shopping with you two months ago. The more we learn about Aldi the more we love it! How awesome it would be to visit the Aldi Test Kitchen. Our family is definitely loyal to Aldi!

Please go back to your former recipe for your Take and Bake Supreme pizza. I didn’t like the new texture of the crust or lack of sauce and vegetables. I won’t be buying again until I see the cooking time back up to where it used to be!

I am a new shopper and am learning all the wonderful foods you have!
A couple of my favorites are the Turhey tenderloin, quarto hummus and the sqvorites cheese crackers! I am sure there is still lots more deliciousness to try and I am looking very forward to it.
    Thank you,
    Pam Kells

I’ve been an Aldi shopper for almost 20 years. There was only one store in my area back then and we made the trip. Now there are many stores and I’ve been in most of them. Love lov love the organic stuff!!!

Your stores use to carry a lot of items from Europe. I am seeing a lot more items that I can get at Walmart or Meijer’s which. Is this going to be the trend?

    Hi ALDI,
A devoted and loyal shopper here for 5+ years!! Was really sad when ALDI discontinued the frozen chicken pot pie! I would love a really good, really simple recipe to make as a weeknight meal! Would also love casserole recipes in general as they are usually easy to prepare for busy families!
    Thank You,
    The Silliman Family

As someone living with celiac, I am so grateful for your G Free line. I love the frozen sandwiches, and always have a selection in my freezer for snack emergencies.

I love to cook with carrots and raisins. How about a carrot cake or bread, with cinnamon and nutmeg, good Autumn smells and tastes.
